Why We Do Not Publish Our Client List

Buyers ask which brands we work for. Our answer is that we cannot say - and that is a policy, not a secret. Here is what we offer instead.

Sooner or later every serious buyer asks the same thing: which brands do you make for? Our answer is that we cannot tell you, and I know how that sounds.
It is not coyness. It is a clause in almost every agreement we sign.

What the clause says

Before the first sample, most customers ask us to keep their designs, their quantities and the fact that they work with us confidential. That is normal in this trade. Putting a logo on our website would break it on day one - and the buyer who wrote the clause would be the first to notice.
I once had a buyer tell me he chose us partly because our site had no client logos. His reasoning was blunt: the factory that names its clients today will name me tomorrow.

What we will do instead

A reference call. We ask a current customer whether they are willing to speak to a new buyer about how we work. If they agree, we connect you. It takes about a week to arrange, and sometimes the answer is no - a brand in the middle of a launch does not want the interruption. We ask anyway.
Paperwork with the name blacked out. We can show you a purchase order with the buyer's name removed and the style, quantity, date and shipping terms left visible. It proves the work without naming the customer.
The floor itself. If we are running your category this month, come and stand beside it, or have us walk a camera past the line while you are on the call. You will see the garment at the machine and the labels going in at the trim table. That is worth more than a logo wall.

Why we still ask for yours

We also sign. If you send a tech pack, we sign your NDA, and we will tell you who inside the factory sees it. Patterns stay with the sampling team. Samples made for you do not get shown to other buyers looking for something similar.
That last part matters more than most buyers realise. A factory that will show you somebody else's sample today will show yours next season.
If you want a reference, ask us and we will start that conversation. Email info@xcdgarments.com or message us on WhatsApp.
